Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln was an American lawyer and Republican
politician who served as 16th president of the
United States from 1861 until his assassination
in 1865.

Lincoln led the nation through the American Civil War,
and succeeded in abolishing slavery. He was
assassinated at the Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C.
on the evening of April 14, 1865 while watching the
play "Our American Cousin". Lincoln is remembered
as one of the greatest presidents in American history.
