Carl XVI Gustaf
(1946 - )
Carl XVI Gustaf is the seventh King of Sweden. He
ascended the throne on the death of his grandfather,
King Gustaf VI Adolf, on 15 September 1973.
The Swedish King has no real power, but is a symbol
of the country. Worldwide, Carl XVI Gustaf is probably
best known as the presenter of the Nobel Prizes each
year. He is the longest-reigning monarch in
the Swedish history.
