George Washington
(1732 - 1799)

George was an American statesman, and Founding Father 
who served as a general and commander-in-chief of the 
colonial armies during the American Revolutionary War, 
and later became the first president of the United States, 
serving from 1789 to 1797.

He led Patriot forces to victory in the nation's 
War of Independence.  George stepped down from
 the presidency after 8 years, or two terms.
