Milkhail Gorbachev was a Soviet and Russia
politician statesman who served as the
leader of the Soviet Union from 1985 to
the country's dissolution in 1991.
in 1990, Gorbachev was awarded the Nobel
Peacr Prize. In the West he is praised for
his role in ending the Cold War, including
new political and economy freedoms in
the Soviet Union.
Glasnost and Peretroika is a concept of
openness and transparency popularised
by Gorbachez.
