Jigme Singye Wangchuck
འཇིགས་མེད་སེང་གེ་དབང་ཕྱུག
(1955 -)

Jigme Singye Wangchuck is the fourth king of Bhutan
 (Druk Gyalpo) from 1972 until his abdication in favour 
of his eldest son, Jigme Khesar Namgyel 
Wangchuck in 2006.  

During his reign, Wangchuck banished over 100,000 
people of Nepalese descent from Bhutan - in the 
name of preserving Bhutan's national identity.
