Ramaswamy Venkataraman, was an Indian lawyer
and politician who served as the eight President of
and politician who served as the eight President of
India from 1987 to 1992. He was Defense Minister
and in 1984 was elected as the seventh
Vice President of India.
Venkataraman died at the Army Hospital New Delhi
Venkataraman died at the Army Hospital New Delhi
on 27 January 2009 due to multiple organ failure
at the age of 98.
