Maharana Pratap also known as Pratap Singh I,
wasthe 13th King of Mewar, a region in
north-western India, in the present day state
of Rajasthan. He ruled from 1557 until his
death in 1597.
Pratap died of injuries sustained in a hunting at
Chavand on 19 January 1597. He was succeeded
by his elder son, Amar Singh I.
